The Lions compete at Notre Dame Invitational

The women's cross country team traveled to the University of Notre Dame for the 2017, National Catholic Cross Country Invitational. Just like the men, the women competed in both the varsity and junior varsity races.

Sophomore, Kayla Gibson (Reading, OH/ Reading) led the way for the lady lions in the JV race with a time of 29:50. Following the conclusion of the JV race, the women's varsity team was sent to the line.  Junior, Maria Waters (Cincinnati, OH/ Mercy) was the first to finish on her team with a solid time of 21:39. Junior, Julia Cason (Cincinnati, OH/ McAuley) and freshman, Vanessa Cappel (Cincinnati, OH/ Princeton), finished with times of 24:47 and 24:55 as they finished one after another.  

The women's team will look to build on this race and continue to train hard. The next race will be a home meet for the Lions, The Mount St. Joseph Invitational on Friday, September 22.
