HOW IT HAPPENED:

The Lions looked to close out their final home game of the season against the Franklin Grizzlies. In the first, both teams battled for momentum. Neither team was able to pull away until a service run from Riley Brunner (Lawrenceburg, IN / Lawrenceburg) gave the Lions the space they needed. The Lions would keep the lead with Karlie Schell (West Harrison, IN / Franklin County) ending the set with an ace, 25-18. Franklin would get off to a strong start in the second set. The Mount would find their way back into the match but Franklin continued to build a lead. The Grizzlies controlled the set to take a controlling win in the second set, 25-14. Franklin continued their momentum in the third set to take an early margin against the Lions. The Mount couldn't seem to find its groove in the third set, dropping the match 25-14. In the fourth set the Lions would pick up their pace to take Franklin by storm. A seven point service run by Hannah Losey (Tipp City, OH / Tippecanoe) gave the Lions the advantage and they wouldn't look back. The Mount's offense would continue to dominate the match to easily win the fourth set 25-14. The final set was back and forth. Franklin pulled away late in the match but the Lions would come back to tie the score at 12. The Lions weren't able to hold on and fell to the Grizzlies with a final score of 15-12.
