LOCATION: Defiance, OH

THE BASICS:

The Lions played in another conference match this weekend against Defiance College. Coming out strong in the first set, The Lions weren't able to continue their momentum for the rest of the match. Defiance would go on to win the next three sets to finish the match with a 3-1 score.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

In the first set the Lions controlled the tempo early. Defiance would tie the match but the Lions wouldn't look back, with Sydney Wilzbach () and Riley Brunner () going on long service runs. A kill by Hannah Losey () secured the first set for the Lions 25-14. The second set the Lions seemed to lose their stream, finding themselves at a deficit early. Defiance would capitalize on the Lions mistake to break away in the second set with a score of 25-16. The Lions had a slow start to the third set, unable to find their groove in this match. Down 19-10 the Lions found the will to mount a comeback, fighting to tie the score at 23. Unfortunately, Defiance was able to finish out the set 25-23 with two pivotal kills. In the final set neither team was able break away. Errors from the Lions late in the match led to Defiance taking the set 25-19, winning the match 3-1.

THE STANDOUTS:
