Lions' women's volleyball program adds another player for 2015 team

Madison Burris, a 5-foot-10 middle hitter, from Caldwell, Ohio will attend the Mount and play volleyball next season for the Lions, Head Coach Jon Bennett announced today.

Burris earned All-League and Division IV First Team District 12 honors, and was named to the district and state all-star teams last season as a senior. She played for Head Coach Paige Young at Caldwell HS.

“Madison is talented athlete that can play multiple positions for us,’’ Bennett stated. “She led her team in kills and blocks last season. With her athletic ability and wiliness to get better, Maddy will be a great player her at the Mount.”

Burris comes in with an impressive high school academic record. She was a four-year OVAC All-Academic athlete, was in the Phi Theta Kappa honor society at Washington State Community College, on the Dean's list each semester at Washington State Community College and is a 10-year member of the 4-H club.

Madison is the daughter of Sibyl and Terry Rataiczak. She intends to major in Athletic Training and pursue Physical Therapy. She said she chose to attend the Mount because: “I loved the Mount on my overnight visit and can't wait to be a part of the volleyball team,’’ Burris added.
