Location/Meet: Capital University Columbus, OH/ Jessica Starks Open
Mount St. Joseph's Women's team competed well in their second indoor meet of the season. At the beginning of the season these athletes are looking to build a base and gain some experience competing against other well skilled athletes. Marissa Chambers (Williamsburg, OH/ CNE) represented her team by throwing 9.15m in the Shot Put and finishing tenth overall. Andi Meyer (Ft. Loramie, OH/ Ft. Loramie) is an incoming freshman for the Lions and seems to be a useful tool for this team as she was able to make an impact in the high jump and the pole vault. She finished second in the high jump at a height of 1.48m, and second in the pole vault clearing 3.2m. She led the team scoring 16 total points for the Lions in her two events. On the Track, Solange Cooper (St. Johns, FL/ Bartram Trail) was able to make her presence felt in the 400m race. She ran 1:06 and finished fourth overall to add 5 more points to the Lions score.
Mount St. Joseph finished six out of the seven teams scoring a total of 33 points.
The Lions will travel to Anderson University for the Anderson Invitational on Saturday 2/4 as they continue their indoor season looking to get a look at some conference competitors.
