INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The Mount St. Joseph women's lacrosse team had a roller coaster of a 2019 season. They finished fourth in the Heartland Collegiate Lacrosse Conference and made it to the postseason. They finished the regular and postseason, going 4-11 with a 3-3 HCLC record. Despite their record the Lions fought hard every game and four Lions earned honors by the conference in a release made today.
The woman leading the charge for the Lions this season was freshman Megan Dancer (Springboro, Ohio/Springboro) who received a spot on 1st team all-conference, as well as, a member of the Sportsmanship Team. Dancer played midfield for the Lions and led the team in goals with 44 total. She also landed seventh in the conference for most goals in the season. Dancer also broke a team record this season scoring 10 goals in a single game. This season is Dancer's first with the team and we look forward to what the next three years will bring.
The Lions also congratulate senior Joy Glacken (Cleves, Ohio/Taylor) who received a spot on 2nd team all-conference. Glacken played attack for The Mount this season and came in second on the team for goals with 25 which allowed her to place 11th in conference for goals.
Junior Brianna Brannon (Cincinnati, Ohio/Seton) received a spot on 2nd team all-conference. for the 2019 season. Brannon has been an member of the Lions team over the last three seasons. She totaled 18 goals this season with eight assists.
Sophomore Emma Lickert (Centerville, Ohio/Centerville) received HCLC Honorable Mention for the 2019 season. Lickert was an integral part of the Lions defense this season as she collected 31 ground balls and caused 12 turnovers. She will return next season as an upperclassman.
