Women's golf finishes seventh in Hanover Invitational

Location: HANOVER, Indiana (Sunrise Falls Golf Course)

How it Happened:

The Mount St. Joseph women's golf team got off to a fantastic start in the first round at Hanover. In round one led by three players with scores in the mid-80's they posted a team score of 345 which was good for fourth at the conclusion of day one. The three players in the 80's were Emma Schrand (Cincinnati, OH/ McCauley), Hayley Quatman (Cincinnati, OH/ McCauley), and Isabella Olthaus (Cincinnati, OH/ Seton) who shot 84,84 and 85 respectively.

The second round would not be nearly as kind to the Lions as they struggled to post low scores. In round two they posted no score lower than 93 as a team, which dropped them from 4th after round one to 7th after the second round. Still though this was a very respectable finish for the very young Lions. This team continues to prove that they are full of promise, and that the future of the women's golf program at Mount St. Joseph is very bright.

The Lions again were led by Schrand who was the teams lowest scorer again this week, again she was followed in the standings by Quatman. These two have began to establish themselves as the leaders for the team.

Up Next:

Next week the Lions will travel to Tiffin, OH for the Heidelberg Invitational Tournament.
