Mount St. Joseph started the game off strong competing with Denison to keep the score close. At the end of the first quarter the Lions were down 22 to 15. The second quarter was controlled by Denison after they outscored the Mount 19 to 10 to take the lead going into halftime with the score at 41 to 25. The Lions entered the second half looking to be more aggressive, but the team could not come back from the large deficit and was defeated by Denison with a final score of 73 to 51.

The game started off close between the two teams. Lainee Studer (Pleasant Plain, OH/ Little Miami) led the team in the first quarter with 5 points. The Lions struggled to get the lead as the first quarter came to an end with the score at 22 to 15. The Mount continued to show great hustle as they tried to keep the game close. Denison was able to increase their lead after outscoring the Lions 19 to 10 in the second quarter. This made the score 41 to 25 as both teams headed into the locker room for halftime. The Mount came into the second half looking to get back in the game. They played aggressively and showed great hustle, but were unable to decrease Denison's lead. The Lions were defeated with a final score of 73 to 51.
Lainee Studer lead the team in scoring with 15 points, 6 assists, and 4 steals. Her aggressive offensive play is what kept the Lions in the game. Maddie Haberthy (Cincinnati, OH/ Mother of Mercy) also had a productive day. She totaled 12 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists in the Lions loss to Denison.
