CINCINNATI, Ohio—The Midwest Collegiate Volleyball League has announced that Andrew Chisholm (Cincinnati, OH / Oak Hills) has earned defensive player of the week for the second week of the season. The middle blocker helped the #12 Lions climb back into the rankings by defeat two top 15 teams in a perfect 3-0 weekend. Chisholm is in his third year at The Mount, studying Business Management.
The Lions traveled to Pennsylvania to participate in another tri match this past weekend. They took on two nationally ranked teams in #6 Juniata College and #13 Nazareth College, while also facing Penn State Altoona. Over the course of the weekend Chisholm recorded 15 kills, 12 blocks, and 7 digs, a stat rarely tallied by a Middle. Chisholm was a big factor in the Lions four-set win against Juniata, posting 9 kills and 11 blocks while also earning 3 digs in the back row. In six games Chisholm has recorded 28 blocks, averaging 1.22 blocks per set. This is the second consecutive week The Mount has had a defensive player of the week, after Joey Piazza (Cuyahoga Falls, OH / Walsh Jesuit) was recognized in Week 1.
