Lions compete at HCAC Championship

On Saturday, February 17 the Lions traveled to Anderson University for the 2018 HCAC Indoor Track and Field Conference Championship. This would be the first meet of the year with all the teams in the HCAC competing against each other.

Sophomore Tre'on Taylor (Winter Park, FL/ Winter Park) was the only solo athlete to score any points for the men. Taylor was able to finish in 6th place in the 60 M dash with a time of 7.22.

Two relay teams were able to place in the top 8 to go along with Taylor's 6th place finish. The Distance Medley Team consisting of Junior, Chad Mason (Taylor, OH/ Taylor) Senior, Kevin Polking (Cincinnati, OH/ St. Xavier) Freshman, Ben Gray (Napoleon, OH/ Pettisville) and Freshman, Luke Danis (Yellow Springs, OH/ Carroll) finished 8th overall with a time 11:47.19 which missed breaking the school record by 2 seconds.  Also placing top 8 was the 4 x 200 M relay team consisting of Sophomore, Tre'on Taylor (Winter Park, FL/ Winter Park) Freshman, De'Andro Atmodimedjo (Coral Springs, FL / Coral Glades) Junior, Drew Stark (Cincinnati, OH/ Roger Bacon) and Sopomore, Gunner Froelicher (Alexandria, KY/ Campbell Co.) who finished 6th in a time of 1:39.84.

The men finished in 10th place but felt that the results didn't reflect how they performed. The men had a strong season and they plan to continue this while transitioning to the outdoor season.
