Mount St. Joseph competes at Anderson University

On February 3 the men competed in the 2018 Anderson University Track and Field Invitational in Anderson, Indiana. Josh King (Danville, IL/ Danville), Chad Mason (Cincinnati, OH/ Taylor), and Ben Gray (Napoleon, OH/ Pettisville) all competed in the 800 M dash with Mason getting the best of his teammates. Mason ran a time of 2.11.87 followed by Gray with a 2.18.49 and King with a time of 2.23.13.

            Sophomore, Tre'on Taylor (Winter Park, FL/ Winter Park) performed well in both the 60 M dash and the 200 M dash. Taylor finished 5th in the 60 M dash and 7th in the 200 M dash with times of 7.30 and 23.96 respectively. Junior Drew Stark (Cincinnati, OH/ Roger Bacon) followed up last week's record breaking performance in the 60 M hurdles with a 7th place finish with a time of 9.59.

            Joining their teammates in the top 8 were Freshmen De'Andro Atmodimedjo and Luke Danis (Yellow Springs, OH/ Carroll). Atmodimedjo finished 6th place overall in triple jump with a distance of 11.42 M (37 feet and 5 inches). Danis finished 8th place overall in the mile with a time of 5.09.

            The men had two teams compete in the Distance Medley Relay. The team consisting of Chad Mason (Cincinnati, OH/ Taylor), Drew Stark (Cincinnati, OH/ Roger Bacon), Ben Gray (Napoleon, OH/ Pettisville) and Luke Danis (Yellow Springs, OH/ Carroll) finished 2nd overall and the team of Josh King (Danville, IL/ Danville), Brian Bauer (Cincinnati, OH/ Oak Hills), Zach Mays (Cincinnati,OH/ Reading) and Matt Bruner (Dillsboro, IN/ South Dearborn), finished 4th overall.

The men performed well as individuals and as teams. They hope to follow this performance up on Saturday, February 10 at DePauw University.
