Lions travel for competition at Capital University

On Saturday, January 27th the men's track and field to team traveled to Capital Unviersity for their second meet of the year. Sophomore, Tre'on Taylor (Winter Park, FL/ Winter Park) had a very solid day placing top 8 in both the 60M dash as well as the 200 M dash. Taylor ran the 60M dash in a time of 7.20 which was good enough for 6th place. Taylor followed this performance up with a 23.36 in the 200 M dash which put him into 8th place.

Junior, Drew Stark (Cincinnati, OH/ Roger Bacon) had a strong showing while also breaking a school record. Having broken the record in the 600 M dash last week, Stark followed this performance up with another school record, but this time it was in the 60 M hurdles. Stark finished 7th place overall with a time of 9.44.

The men's 4x400 M relay team and the Distance Medley team were also able to finish in the top 8. The 4x400 team consisting of: Chad Mason (Cincinnati, OH/ Taylor), Drew Stark (Cincinnati, OH/ Roger Bacon), Tre'on Taylor (Winter Park, FL/ Winter Park), and Ben Gray (Napolean, OH/ Pettisville) were able to finish in 7th place with an overall all time of 3.47.58. The Distance Medley team consisted of Luke Danis (Yellow Springs, OH/ Carroll), Matt Bruner (Dillsboro, IN/ South Dearborn), Zach Mays (Cincinnati, OH/ Reading), and Brian Bauer (Cincinnati, OH/ Oak Hills). Despite being all freshman, the men were able to finish second overall with a time of 12.59.38.

The men's team was able to finish in 7th place overall with the help of a solid individual and team performance. Between both teams, a total of 19 athletes were able to set new personal best. The next meet will be Saturday, February 3rd at Anderson University where the men will hope to have another strong showing.
