CINCINNATI, Ohio-- The Mount St. Joseph men's tennis team welcomed the Yellow Jackets of Defiance college to campus on saturday. The Lions would battle hard but in the end would fall in a close match.
The Lions number two doubles team of Cooper Wade (Milan, IN/ Milan) and Ian Stutz (Troy, OH/ Troy) continued their hot streak. The pairing to this point has put together a 3-0 HCAC record. Their victory was the loan win for the Lions in the doubles portion of the match.
Wade and Stutz were also able to secure victories in the single portion of the match. Wade secured his in dominant fashion defeating Defiance's number two 6-4,6-1. The Lions other singles win came in the number six matchup as Cody Tallon (Bright, IN/ East Central) secured the win. The three wins were good enough for the Lions to split the singles matches. They were unable to overcome the two doubles losses, dropping the match 5-4.
The Lions play host on wednesday to the HCAC's top team Rose-Hulman. The match is scheduled to begin at 4:00 PM.
