Mount St. Joseph dominates Transylvania on the road

LEXINGTON, Ky-- The Mount St. Joseph men's tennis team continued the conference portion of their schedule tonight, as they traveled south on I-75 to take on the Pioneers of Transylvania University. They would sure make the trip worth while, defeating Transy by a score of 8-1.

The Lions opened the match by taking all three doubles matches, to set themselves up nicely in going for the win. The doubles teams for the Lions were Nate Clark (Cincinnati, OH/ Miami Valley Christian) and Guy Watkins (Cincinnati, OH/ Purcell Marian),  Cooper Wade (Milan, IN/ Milan) and Ian Stutz (Troy, OH/ Troy), and Cody Tallon (Bright, IN/ East Central) and Tony Faillace (Cincinnati, OH/ Elder).

The only difference for the Lions in the singles matches was Ben Montez (Dayton, OH/ Northridge) who took the place of Faillace. Montez along with Wade, Watkins, Stutz and Tallon were all victorious in their singles matches. The lone point for the Pioneers came in the number one singles match as Nate Clark was defeated.

With the win the Lions moved to 3-3, 1-1 HCAC on the season. The next match for the Lions will be on Saturday as they play host to HCAC foe Defiance at 12:00 pm.
