The Basics:

The Lions headed to Heidelberg University to take on the Student Prince's in a Friday night match up.  The first half came to an end with the Mount trailing Heidelberg 2-0. The Student Princes were able to keep the lead until the game ended with a final score of 5-0.

How it Happened:

The Mount attacked quickly trying to take an early lead but Heidelberg was the first one to make their mark on the scoreboard. They exchanged shots on goal but both without success until Heidelberg was able to snag their second goal bringing their lead over the Lions to two. The Mount was able to fend off their shots and hold them to just two goals in the first half leading to a halftime score of 2-0. The Lions came out in the second half hoping to fight back and change the direction of the game but Heidelberg was able to keep their momentum going scoring one more at the start of the second half. Shots were exchanged and Mount St. Joseph fought for it but they couldn't stop Heidelberg from scoring another pair of goals before the clock struck 00:00 leaving the Mount of the sour side of a 5-0 score.

Standouts:

Freshman goalkeeper Nathan Folop (Harrison, IN/ Oldenburg) made nine saves on 15 shots bring his game him save percentage to 64%.
