Lions fight hard but come up short to Hanover

LOCATION: Hanover College (Hanover, IN)

THE BASICS:

The Mount (5-10-3, 2-5-1) headed to Hanover College (12-4-0, 7-1-0) on Wednesday to face the Panthers. The Blue and gold fought hard but couldn't find the back of the net all night, resulting in a final score of 3-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

Hanover struck early with a goal in the 17th minute, coming from a penalty kick. Goalie Will Schwing (Greendale, IN / Lawrenceburg) had a total of eight saves, and the team was able to save a goal as well. The Mount struggled offensively but was persistent in creating chances as a team. In the second half, the Lions got two quick shots off in the 48th minute but were unable to capitalize. Hanover found the net in the 71st minute and the 78th minute.

THE STANDOUTS:

Although the Lions weren't able to get on the board tonight, goalie Will Schwing made eight key saves to help the Lions' defense.
