Lions unable to come out on top against Wabash

LOCATION: Crawfordsville, IN

THE BASICS:

The Lions traveled to take on Wabash College in a non-conference matchup. Wabash was able to take the lead early and maintained their tempo the whole match. The Lions were able to get on the board but unfortunately lost the match 3-1.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

The Lions didn't look strong early in the first half, allowing their opponents to take multiple shots. Wabash was able to connect on a goal halfway through the first half to take the lead 1-0. The Lions tried to close the gap before the half but couldn't connect on a goal. Coming back after the half Wabash quickly stunned the Lions with another goal in the 50th minute to give them a 2-0 lead. The Mount continued to fight for a goal but Wabash wasn't making it easy. After multiple shots on goal Seth Freppon (Cold Spring, KY / Newport Central Catholic) was able to find the back of the net with an assist by Joseph Glisson (Cincinnati, OH / Anderson) in the 77th minute. With the score 2-1 the Lions were desperate to find an equalizer to stretch out the match. Unfortunately five minutes later Wabash was able to find the goal once again giving them a 3-1 lead. The Lions weren't able to come back from the deficit and fell to Wabash with a final score of 3-1.

THE STANDOUTS:
