Lions fall at home in Sunday afternoon matchup

LOCATION: (Cincinnati, OH)

THE BASICS:

The Lions faced Heidelberg University in the first match of a double header. Unfortunately the Lions weren't able to come back from the deficit and fell to Heidelberg 0-4.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

The Lions weren't able to find their groove early in the game. A quick goal by Heidelberg two minutes in the game stunned the Lions defense. Not able to keep possession of the ball allowed Heidelberg's offense to make plays on the goal. A second goal half way through the first half left the Lions at a 0-2 deficit fighting to come back. The second half told the same story, The Mount wasn't able to create offense which lead to another quick goal by Heidelberg in the 47th minute. The game looked out of hand but the Lions continued to fight. Another goal by Heidelberg in the 86th minute put the match out of reach of the Lions, as they were defeated with a final score of 0-4.

THE STANDOUTS:

Although the Lions weren't able to get on the board goalie Will Schwing (Greendale, IN / Lawrenceburg) came in at the half and made five key saves to lead the Lions defense.

UP NEXT:

The Lions play again this Tuesday against Southern State at Schueler Field with kickoff starting at 7PM.
