Lions struggle in second round enroute to a 8th place finish

Location: Decatur, IL (Country Club of Decatur and Red Tail Run)

How it Happened:

The Lions got off to a quick start in the first round of the tournament, firing in a 304. They were led in the first round by Kyle Miller (New Vienna, OH/ East Clinton) who fired a season-low round of 72. He was followed by Kevin Imhulse (Wilmington, OH/ Wilmington) who was in the Lions top-5 for the first time this season, with a 75. After the dust settled in Round 1 the Lions found themselves in fifth place 10-strokes off the lead.

The second round would not be kind to the Lions. Miller followed his first round 72 up with an 81. Four of the five golfers for the Lions played worse in round two than round one. The lone player to improve his score was reigning HCAC Golfer of the Week Mikel Merker (Dayton, OH/ West Carrolton). Merker followed his first round 78 with a 76 for a total of 154.
