Four Lions honored by the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference

GREENWOOD, INDIANA-- The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference has announced the men's basketball All-Conference honor roll for the 2017-2018 season. Mount St. Joseph capped off their third regular season championship in the last four seasons by landing four players on the list.

Leading the way for the Lions on the list were a pair for First-team selections, seniors Andrew Finley (Cincinnati, OH/Walnut Hills) and Erik Edwards (Cincinnati, OH/Roger Bacon).

Finley led the Lions in scoring this season at 16.7 points-per-game, which was good for the sixth highest average in the conference. He was extremely efficient as a scorer this season despite carrying a large load offensively, he shot better than 48 percent from the field and 41 percent from behind the 3-point line. It was a well-rounded performance for Finley this season, along with his scoring load he added a team-high 1.1 steals-per-game, a team-high 3.0 assists-per-game, and 2.5 rebounds per game.

Edwards was the Lions second leading scorer this season averaging 14.6 points-per-game. He was even more efficient than Finley as he led the HCAC in field-goal percentage this season, making 66.3 percent of his field goal attempts in 2017-18. Edwards was the Lions leading rebounder as well with 6.1 rpg, which was good for 3rd in the HCAC. He also added 3.0 assists per game and 1.0 steals per game.

Joining Finley and Edwards was second team All-HCAC selection Adam Goetz (Erlanger, KY/St. Henry). Adam was the Lions third leading scorer this season with 12.5 points-per-game. He shot an outstanding 50 percent from behind the 3-point line this season, which was the highest percentage in the HCAC this season. Adam is the lone player on this list that will return to The Mount next basketball season.

Senior Tyler Manaugh (Madison, IN/Madison) was the Lions representative on the 2017-2018 All-HCAC Sportsmanship list.
