Toby Carrigan honored to be a feature speaker at Hoosier Basketball Coaches Association Clinic

CINCINNATI – Mount St. Joseph University Head Men's Basketball Coach Toby Carrigan will be one of the featured speakers at the 2017 Hoosier Basketball Coaches Association Clinic Friday & Saturday (Sept. 29-30) at Bloomington South High School.

The two-time HCAC Coach of the Year is slated to speak at 11:05am-12pm on Saturday. Coach Carrigan will be discussing The Mount's "Princeton Offense".  Some of the biggest names in Indiana high school basketball will speak at this year's clinic which is headlined by Indiana University Head Coach Archie Miller.

Also slated to speak are former NBA player Luke Zeller, Greensburg HS Head Coach Stacy Meyer, Terre Haute North HS Head Coach Todd Woelfle, Blackford HS Head Coach Jerry Hoover, North Harrison High School Head Coach Joe Hinton, Crawford County HS Head Coach Levi Carmichael and Washington HS Head Coach Gene Miller.

"I am honored to be included in such a great event with Coach Miller and some of the best high school coaches in Indiana," Carrigan said, "I have known some of these coaches for a long time and have a great deal of respect for what they do." Carrigan went on to say, "This is a great opportunity to showcase Mount Basketball and share with these coaches a little bit about what we do and what our brand of basketball is about."

Coach Carrigan, in his seventh season at The Mount, was named Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Coach of the Year in 2015 and 2016. He led Mount basketball to their first ever HCAC regular season championship in 2015 a feat they repeated 2016. The Lions also took the 2016 HCAC Tournament Championship and earned the program's first NCAA Tournament berth. Last season, the Lions earned their first ever Top 25 ranking when the Mount earned a ranking as the #22 team in the country.  The Mount broke the programs single season wins record in 2016-17 finishing the year with a 20-7 record.
