HOW IT HAPPENED
In a battle that saw the teams at the top of the HCAC standings square off the Lions surely did not disappoint. The Lions got off to a fantastic start in the game, shooting 75 percent (9-12) from behind the three-point line in the first half, which helped Mount St. Joseph run out to a 19 point lead with 5:55 to play in the first half. From that point though Hanover went on a furious run to cut the lead to 6 points at halftime, 38-32.
Coming out of the break the tone was set early by senior guard Joel Scudder who hit a big three to start the scoring. Hanover never got closer than 6 points as the Mount got double digit points from four players. Mount St. Joseph continued to shoot well from deep, and shot better than 60 percent from deep for the game.
The Lions travel on Saturday to Earlham College (1-13, 0-7 HCAC) with the tipoff set for 3 p.m.
