The Mount dropped to 1-3 on the season on Monday when they lost both games they played, 8-1 to Washington (MD) College and 15-7 to Millikin University. The Lions are scheduled to resume action in Kissimmee, FL on March 13 when they take on Albion College and Roger Williams University.

Washington College rolled out to a 4-0 lead after two innings of play against the Mount, en route to their sixth win of the young season. The Mount's lone run came in the third inning, when Tanya Sefton (Vevay, IN/Switzerland County) led off the inning with a bunt single, was sacrificed to second base, moved to third on a single by Paige Norton (Cincinnati, OH/Reading), and scored on a groundout by Mallory Wright (Germantown, OH/Valley View). Norton and Sefton each collected two of the Mount's five hits in the game. Erica D'Arcy (Fairfield, OH/Fairfield) pitched a complete game for the Lions, allowing three earned runs.

The Lions got off to a good start in the day's second game against Millikin, plating four runs in the bottom of the first inning, thanks to two hits and two errors by their opponent. Holding a 4-2 lead heading into the third inning, the Lions allowed six Millikin runs and gave up the lead, 8-4. A three-run, fourth inning by the Mount would cut the deficit to 8-7 but the Lions would not score again, as Millikin pounded out 16 hits en route to the win. Taylor McElhinny (Crestwood, KY/Oldham County) had three hits to lead the Mount's six-hit attack. Wright added two hits and two runs scored while Kim McElhinny (Crestwood, KY/Oldham County) walked twice. The Mount used three pitchers in the game, with starter Leslie Biggs (Harrison, OH/Harrison) suffering the loss. The two teams combined to commit 10 errors.
