The 2013 HCAC Softball Coaches' Preseason Poll has been released and the Anderson University Ravens have been chosen to claim the top spot in the conference standings this spring. Anderson received eight, first-place votes to claim the first spot, followed by Bluffton, Manchester, Transylvania and Defiance. Bluffton picked up the other first-place coaches' vote. Defiance, Rose-Hulman, Franklin, Hanover and the Mount round the poll. Anderson claimed both the 2012 regular season and HCAC Tournament titles.

The 2013 softball season opens on February 23. The HCAC portion of the schedule will begin on March 23 with the HCAC Tournament slated for May 3-4.

Selected as "HCAC Players to Watch" in 2013 were Mount players: Kim McElhinny – P/1B (Sr., Crestwood, KY/Oldham Co.), Taylor McElhinny – P/IF (So., Crestwood, KY/Oldham Co.), Tanya Sefton – OF (Sr., Vevay, IN/Switzerland Co.), Claire Wehby – IF (Fr., Mason, OH/H.S.), and Lindsay Griffith – C/IF (So., Alexandria, KY/Bishop Brossart)
