Host Wittenberg University jumped out to a 1-0 lead at the half and held on the defeat the Lions, 3-1 in the season opener for both teams.

Andrea Caldwell (Cincinnati, OH/Purcell Marian) knotted the score for the Lions at one-all with just under 11 minutes gone in the second half but the Tigers scored the go-ahead goal in the 72nd minute of play. They added one more score with under 10 minutes left in the game.

The Mount is back in action on at the Marietta College Tournament when they take on Adrian College on Sept. 4 and an opponent to be determined on Sept. 5.
