Lions' women's basketball squad working toward relief efforts in Haiti

by Jeannette Bryson, Media Relations Manager

Members of the Mount’s Service Learning Advisory Committee will be at the gym doors before the Lions’ Women’s basketball game against Anderson University on Saturday, Jan. 23, to collect items for the earthquake victims in Haiti. Game time is 1 p.m.

The public is invited to donate such items as clean blankets (wrapped in plastic), bars of soap, toothpaste and toothbrushes, and boxes of laundry soap, canned stews, ravioli and hearty soups. Cash donations will be accepted as well. The College will turn over all donate items to Matthew 25 Ministries for distribution.

Mount Women basketball players will also be in the College’s Seton Center during lunch periods this week to collect items and cash donations. Collection bins/boxes can be found in Seton Center and in the Classroom (Administration) Building lobbies. Items will be accepted on campus until Thursday, January 28, and then turned over to Matthew 25 Ministries.
