Jake Neiheisel, a 6-foot-5 middle blocker from Cincinnati will transfer to the Mount this fall and play volleyball this coming season, head coach Ryan Lengerich announced today.

Neiheisel won a state title as a junior and finished runner-up as a senior at Elder High School under Head Coach Sean Tierney, before attending the University of Cincinnati.

“Jake is an outstanding player who will bring a great attitude, leadership, and experience to the court next season,” said Lengerich.

Neiheisel competed for four years at Elder High School and played four years of club volleyball.

“I’ve really enjoyed getting to know Jake, who is a very lighthearted and approachable person,” Lengerich added. “He will be a leader on and off the court and will no doubt fit in well with his teammates.”

In his senior year at Elder, Neiheisel was named First Team All-Greater Catholic League, First Team All-Region and Second Team All-State.

He joins Zack Storc and Mooch Randolph, both of Columbus, Ohio, Nathan Herdeman of Cincinnati, Jason Renneker of Liberty Township, Ohio, Adam Williams of Chicago, Chris Ales of Bolingbrook, IL, and Darien Bradley and Darrell Swanson of Las Vegas in the 2014 recruiting class.

Neiheisel will enter the Mount as a junior and intends to pursue a degree in Sport Management. He is the son of Leah and Paul Neiheisel.
