Adam Williams, a 6-foot, outside hitter from Chicago, Illinois will attend the Mount in the fall and play volleyball, Lions’ Head Coach Ryan Lengerich announced today.

Williams is a leader at Mount Carmel High School where he plays for Head Coach Abigail Hasebrook.

“Williams is a big-time player,’’ Lengerich said. “He only started playing a few years back and his skills are already at a very high level. He has so much room for growth, too. With his athleticism and work ethic there is no limit to what he can accomplish.”

Williams also played this past year for the Ultimate Volleyball Club in Chicago under Head Coach Troy Vidovic.

“Williams comes from a great family and when he visited the Mount it was clear the Mount was the right fit for him academically and personally,’’ Lengerich said. “The team members really enjoyed the time they had to spend with him. He is courteous, hard-working and a solid student. I look forward to having him join the Mount men’s volleyball family.”

He joins Zack Storc and Mooch Randolph, both of Columbus, Ohio, Nathan Herdeman of Cincinnati, Ohio and Jason Renneker of Liberty Township, Ohio as new members on next year’s team.

Williams intends to major in studio art. He is the son of Tamara Earley and Albert Williams.
