Jason Renneker, a 6-foot outside/opposite from Liberty Township, near Cincinnati, Ohio, will attend the Mount and play volleyball for the Lions, according to Head Coach Ryan Lengerich.
Renneker was a junior on last year’s state title team for the Bishop Fenwick High School boys’ volleyball team and is a leader on this year’s squad which is once again ranked among the top teams in the state. He plays for Head Coach Tyler Conley.
“Jason is a great student and all-around player and is a really strong fit for the Mount men’s program,” Head Coach Ryan Lengerich said. “We are fortunate to have another great local student-athlete join the program.”
Renneker brings to the Lions’ program four years of club experience in addition to four years at Fenwick. He played three seasons for Cincinnati Attack and competed this current club season for Head Coach James Patterson at Air City volleyball club in Dayton, Ohio.
“I love Jason’s high-level club and high school experience,’’ Lengerich added. “He won’t be shocked by the level of play at the college level. I’m confident he will make the transition smoothly.”
He joins Zack Storc and Mooch Randolph, both of Columbus, Ohio and Nathan Herdeman of Cincinnati as new players for the upcoming season.
Renneker was named to the West Region Division II Honorable Mention team as a junior. He intends to major in Athletic Training. He said he chose to attend the Mount for its academic programs combined with the opportunity to play volleyball at the NCAA level.
He is the son of Michelle and Scott Renneker.
