The Lions improved to 2-2 in the CVC, and 11-7 overall, after defeating Milwaukee School of Engineering, 3-1 in the Harrington Center on Friday evening. The Mount returns to the court on Mar. 15 when they face conference-foe Lakeland (WI) College at home.

The two teams played closely on the scoreboard in the first set, and following a tie at 16-all, the Mount ran off seven straight points to take a 24-16 lead. The scoring spree was led by a varied hitting attack for the Lions, and numerous errors by MSOE. Cesar Trigo de Serrano (Miami, FL/Christopher Columbus) finished the first set in the Lions favor with a kill. MSOE tied the match at one set apiece winning the second set, but the Lions rebounded behind Alex Vohland (West Chester, OH/Lakota West), and others, to post leads of 11-7 and 20-12 in the third set. Vohland's kill gave the Mount a 25-17 win, and a 2-1 set lead. The fourth set started out much the same way as the set before, with the Mount grabbing advantages of 10-6 and 20-14, behind their diversified offensive attack and MSOE serving and receiving errors. Vohland ended the fourth set, and the match, with a kill for the 25th point.

Vohland led the Mount with 17 kills, five digs and three blocks assists. The Mount totaled 44 kills, hitting .230, and also added 12 blocks. Trigo de Serrano chipped in seven kills while Toby Birnbrich (Anthem, AZ/Boulder Creek) added eight kills (hitting .429) and seven block assists. MSOE had 36 kills, a .083 hitting percentage, 16 service errors and five reception errors in the match.
