The College of Mount St. Joseph men's volleyball team won its third straight match, with a 3-0 victory at Cincinnati Christian University. The Mount, 4-3 on the season, are back in action on Feb. 8 when they begin play in the CVC Crossover Tournament in the Harrington Center. The Lions will take on Marymount University and Cairn University on Feb. 8 and Stevenson University on Feb. 9.

The Mount pushed its season record over the .500 mark for the first time on Thursday night at CCU with the 25-18, 25-16, 25-21 victory. Cesar Trigo de Serrano (Miami, FL/Christopher Columbus) had seven kills for the Lions while teammate Alec King (Cincinnati, OH/La Salle) added six kills and 14 digs. Lyle Lehmann (Rapid City, SD/Rapid City Central) led the Mount with 15 digs while Luke Eschenbach (Cincinnati, OH/La Salle) had 19 assists.

Lions' Head Coach Ryan Lengerich was pleased with the team's play against neighborhood opponent Cincinnati Christian University.

"It was a total team effort tonight from everyone,'' Lengerich said. "I didn't think we were as sharp as we could have been, but that will only help us continue to drill down on the skills we need to improve the most. We are happy to get the win against a local opponent who played very well."
