This week's CVC Player of the Week is Alex Vohland, a freshman outside hitter from West Chester, Ohio (Lakota West HS). Vohland powered the Lions to a pair of wins last weekend to help get his team back to .500 overall on the season.

In a 3-2 win over McKendree Vohland was effective at both of ends of the court. He registered 18 kills and added a team-high 13 digs. Vohland also chipped in 4 total blocks in the match. He followed that performance with a 20-kill, eight-dig effort against Dominican. In the match Vohland finished with just two attack errrors and hit .562.

On the week Vohland averaged 4.75 kills and 2.62 digs per set while hitting .351. He finished the week with a total of 38 kills, 21 digs and six total blocks; averaging 5.2 points per set.

Vohland is the first Mount student-athlete to win a conference Player of the Week honor for volleyball.

Mount Head Coach Ryan Lengerich had this to say about his first-year player winning the weekly honor.

“Alex was sensational all weekend,'' Lengerich said. "He was efficient on offense, a team leader on defense and in serve receive. He scored big points when the team needed them the most. This is a great honor for Alex, the team, and the Mount men’s volleyball program.”
