The revived Mount men’s volleyball program will conclude its preseason with an exhibition match against Cincinnati Christian University on Saturday, Nov. 9 at 3 p.m. in the Harrington Center on the Mount’s campus.

“I’m pleased with the work ethic and strides we have made throughout the preseason,” said Mount Head Coach Ryan Lengerich. “I know the student-athletes are ready to compete, and this will be a great chance to see where we stand, and more importantly to find out what we need to work on heading into the regular season.”

All five sets of the match will be played, and there is no charge for admission.

NAIA-affiliated Cincinnati Christian is heading into its inaugural men’s volleyball season starting in January. The Mount is resuming their men’s volleyball program after not having a team last season. The Lions are a member of the NCAA Division III, and in the Continental Volleyball Conference.

The Lions could be without outside hitter Alex Vohland, who is out with a leg injury, according to Lengerich.

“I’m very excited about the student-athletes I have competing right now,’’ Lengerich adds. “They have worked hard in the gym and weight room, and I expect them to play well in the exhibition. We plan to try several different lineups and see what works, and get as much film of the match as possible. The match will shine a light on what we have accomplished and what we need to improve on.”
