The College of Mount St. Joseph men's track & field team kicked off their 2014 indoor campaign on Saturday at the Otterbein University Invitational, turning in a tenth place finish. Tiffin University was first in the team standings. There were 12 schools that scored points in the meet.
The Lions were led at Otterbein by Micquelle Burton (Cincinnati, OH/Deer Park), who garnered all 13 points for the Mount. Burton was second in the 400m dash, turning in a time of 50.83, and he was fourth in the 200m dash, with a time of 23.12. Sam Barth (Ft. Thomas, KY/Newport Central Catholic) placed 15th in the 800m run and 17th in the 400m dash; while teammate Keenan Crans (Sedona, AZ/Sedona Red Rock) was 15th in the pole vault and 16th in the long jump.
The Mount returns to action on Jan. 24 at the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology Friday Night Invitational.
