Mount men's track & field team opens 2013 outdoor season

On Saturday the Lions made the short trip to the University of Cincinnati to compete in the UC Outdoor Early Bird Meet. The Lions placed 9th out of the 13 teams, finishing with 17.5 points. The University of Cincinnati finished first with 171 points, followed by Spring Arbor with 89, and Cedarville with 75.

Ray Claytor (Cincinnati, OH/LaSalle) finished fifth in the high jump with a jump of 1.78m, earning the Lions 4.5 points. Micquelle Burton (Cincinnati, OH/Deer Park) had the second fastest time in the 200 meter dash, with a time of 22.29 seconds to earn two points. Burton also put up the fastest time in the 400 meter run, with a time of 49.73. Burton also had a long jump of 6.63 meters to earn five more points.

The Lions return to the track next Friday, March 22, when they host the College of Mount St. Jospeh Invitational. The meet will begin at noon.
