The 2013 HCAC Men's Outdoor Track & Field Preseason Poll has been released and the Lions have been chosen for eighth place by the conference's coaches. Rose-Hulman was selected as a unanimous number one selection, garnering all 10, first-place votes. They were followed by Defiance, Franklin, Manchester, and Anderson. Hanover, Bluffton, the Mount, Earlham and and Transylvania round out the second half of the 10-team poll. Rose-Hulman has claimed the last five HCAC Outdoor team titles.

Mount junior Micquelle Burton (Cincinnati, OH/Deer Park), in sprints, senior Michael Kidder (Kings Mills, OH/Kings), in throws; junior Ray Claytor (Cincinnati, OH/La Salle) in jumps; senior Sean Brooks (Englewood, OH/Northmont); and senior Collin Brown (Malvern, OH/Malvern) in sprints/jumps; were chosen as Athletes to Watch this season.
