College of Mount St. Joseph high jumper Ray Claytor (Cincinnati, OH/La Salle) has been named Second Team All-HCAC for the 2013 indoor track & field season. Claytor was the Mount's lone All-Conference selection, as he was named to the second squad by virtue of placing second in the high jump event at last weekend's HCAC Championships. Claytor jumped 2.00 meters, or 6-06.75 feet, in the finals of the event.
This is Claytor's third season on the Mount's track & field team, and his first All-Conference honor. Clayton, ranked 20th in the nation in the Division III high jump leaders, will compete at the Feb. 23 Anderson University Fred Wilt Memorial Invitational, with a last chance to qualify to the March 8-9 NCAA Division III Indoor National Championships. Claytor needs to move into the top 12 nationally to qualify to that meet.
