The Lions split the squad today, and traveled to two different meets. Some of the Lions traveled to Otterbein University in Westerville, Ohio to compete in the All-Ohio Championships. The Lions placed 14th with a score of 21.50. Mount Union placed first with 111.50, followed by Ohio Wesleyan and host Otterbein with 72 and 49 points respectively. There were 17 total events scored. The rest of the Lions traveled to Anderson, Indiana to compete in the Raven Invitational, which was a non-scoring meet.

At the All-Ohio Championships for the Lions, junior Micquelle Burton (Cincinnati, OH/Deer Park) was the standout. Burton ran in both the 200 meter and 400 meter races, as well as competing in the long jump. He was most impressive in the 200 meter dash, where he placed first with a season-best time of 22.38 seconds. Burton placed fifth in the 400 meter race with a time of 50.60. The day was not over for Burton though as he placed fifth in the long jump as well. His jump of 6.78 meters was another season best. The Lions had one more athlete earn points at the meet. Ray Claytor (Cincinnati, OH/LaSalle) placed fifth in the high jump of 1.92 meters.

The Lions will return to action next week in Defiance, OH at the HCAC Championships.
