Saturday, January 26, 2013 On Saturday, the Lions traveled to Terre Haute, Indiana to compete in the Engineer Invitational at Rose-Hulman. In 16 events the Lions recorded 21 points, which was good enough for an eighth place finish. Monmouth (Ill.) was the meet champion by recording 144 points, followed by Bellarmine with 135, and Washington Universtiy with 115. In the men's shot put, Gabe Stiver (Cincinnati, OH/Moeller) placed seventh with a throw of 13.41 meters, earning the Lions two points. In the weight throw, Michael Kidder (Kings Mills, OH/Kings) earned earned points by placing fifth with a throw of 14.80 meters. Micquelle Burton (Cincinnati, OH/Deer Park) placed fourth in the long jump, earning five points with a jump of 6.52 meters. Burton was also second in the 200 meter dash with a time of 22.70 seconds, earning the Lions eight points. The 4x200-meter relay team of Burton, Collin Brown (Malvern, OH/Malvern), Antonio Poellnitz (Cincinnati, OH/Winton Woods), and Joey Veneziano (Cincinnati, OH/Loveland) placed eighth, earning two points, recording a time of 1:37.66. The Lions will return to action February 2 at the Anderson University Invitational.
