Mount men's tennis ends 2012-13 season play at home against Rose-Hulman

The Lions ended their 2012-13 season on Sunday afternoon at home, suffering a 9-0 HCAC loss to Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology on Senior Day. The Mount ends the season with a 5-10 overall record, 1-8 in the HCAC.

Lions' first singles player Clayton Steiniede (Cincinnati, OH/St. Xavier) played well in his final singles match of his career, falling 10-7 in a third-set tie-breaker. He won the first set, 6-3 and dropped the second set by the same score. Steinriede teamed with Kyle Haas (Jasper, IN/Northeast Dubois) to drop an 8-4 decision at first doubles. Fifth singles player Tyler Esham (New Richmond, OH/New Richmond) lost his first set 7-6 (7-3 tiebreak) before losing in his second set. John Knoll (Cincinnati, OH/Turpin) won seven games in his thrid singles match, falling 6-4, 6-3 to his opponent.

The Lions honored senior players Max Withrow (Ft. Mitchell, KY/Beechwood), Colin Barrett (Cincinnati, OH/Mariemont), Steinriede and Esham at the match.
