Lions' men's tennis team falls at home to Defiance College

Visiting Defiance College claimed wins in all three doubles matches, and won four of six singles matches, en route to an 7-2 win today over the Lions. The Mount, 1-5 overall, and 0-3 in the HCAC, is scheduled to return to the courts on April 9 at Central State University.

Clayton Steinriede (Cincinnati, OH/St. Xavier) posted a win at first singles for the Lions, winning 7-6 (7-3), 6-3. Teammate Kyle Haas (Jasper, IN/Northeast Dubois) won in straight sets at fourth singles. Drew Royalty (Ashland, KY/Paul G. Blazer) lost his sixth singles match on a third set tie-breaker, 10-7.

The Lions' second doubles team of Max Withrow (Ft. Mitchell, KY/Beechwood) and Tyler Esham (New Richmond, OH/New Richmond) lost 8-5.
