Mount men's tennis team handed HCAC loss at Hanover College

Host Hanover College won five of six singles matches, and swept the doubles play on Thursday afternoon, as they went on to an 8-1 win against the Lions in HCAC action. The Mount, 1-4 overall, 1-2 in the conference, will resume play on March 29 with a home HCAC match against Defiance College.

Kyle Haas (Jasper, IN/Northeast Dubois) claimed the Lions' only win against the Panthers, recording a victory at fourth singles by winning a third set tie-breaker, 10-8. Colin Barrett (Cincinnati, OH/Mariemont) dropped his third singles match on a third set tie-breaker, 10-5, while Tyler Esham won nine games at fifth singles, but lost, 7-5. 6-4.

The Mount's first doubles team of Barrett and Clayton Steinriede (Cincinnati, OH/St. Xavier) played well, but suffered an 8-6 setback.
