The Lions scored two goals in the first 60 minutes of action, before conceeding three scores in the last 10 minutes, as they were handed a 3-2 conference loss at Anderson University. Corey Wigal (Hamilton, OH/Ross) got the Lions on the board only 6:30 minutes into the game. The Lions forced the Anderson goalie into making three more stops before halftime. They then added a goal at 15:03 into the second half to take a 2-0 lead. Again Wigal was involved in the action, when he provided the assist for fellow freshman Brandon Burns (Hamilton, OH/Ross).
The Lions finished with 12 shots, seven on goal. Jonathan Hurley (Lexington, KY/Paul Lawrence Dunbar) had seven saves for the Lions. The loss brings the Lions record to 2-13, (1-4 HCAC). The Mount will return to action when they face conference-foe Hanover College at Schueler Field on Wednesday, October 23 at 7 pm.
