The Lions and cross-river rival Thomas More College played a close game in the first half, only to see the Saints post five second half goals en route to a 6-0 win at Schueler Field on Tuesday evening. The Mount, 1-9 on the season, on Oct. 5 when they begin 2013 HCAC play at Defiance College.
Thomas More scored the game's first goal in the 43rd minute of play, and held a 1-0 lead at the half. The Saints held just a 10-9 lead in shots on goal at the intermission, but turned 10 second half shots into five goals, as they posted the shutout. They finished with a 20-13 advantage in shots, including 13-6 in shots on goal over the Lions. Thomas More (5-2) also had five corner kicks to the Mount's two corner kicks. Austin Cagle (Independence, KY/Simon Kenton) had four saves for the Lions.
