Host West VA Tech Institute of Technology scored the game's first five goals, racing out to a 5-0 halftime lead, and recorded an 8-1 win over the Mount on Saturday. The Lions, 1-5 overall, will resume action on Sept. 18 when they host Wittenberg University (3-4).

The Golden Bears out-shot the Mount, 31-6 in the game, including 19-4 in shots on goal. The Lions lone goal was scored by Brandon Burns (Hamilton, OH/Ross) when he converted off of a corner kick from teammate Jake Nelson (Batavia, OH/Batavia), in the 65th minute of the game.
