Shane Hall (Louisville, KY/Trinity) scored two goals and teammate Jake Butler (Cincinnati, OH/Bishop Fenwick) scored the go-ahead goal last in the second half as the Lions defeated Cincinnati Christian University, 3-1 in their home opener. The Mount, 1-3 on the season, will be back in action on Sept. 11 when they host Spalding University.

CCU took a 1-0 lead in the 46th minute of play, before Hall netted an unassisted goal nearly 23 1/2 minutes later to tie the score. Butler then scored off a pass from teammate Bryson Lewis (Blanchester, OH/Blanchester) at the 72:01 mark to put the Lions ahead 2-1. Hall added his second goal of the game, in the 76th minute of action, when he scored off a pass from Zach Kuebler (Hilliard, OH/Hillard Darby). Austin Cagle (Indepedence, KY/Simon Kenton) recorded one save in goal for the Mount, picking up the win.

The Lions out-shot CCU, 29-8, including 12-3 in shots on goal. The Mount had a 7-3 edge in corner kicks.
