The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Coaches' Preseason men's soccer poll has been released and the Mount has been chosen to finish ninth this season. Transylvania University, which finished first in last season's conference standings, was chosen for the top spot, garnering seven, first-place votes, and recording 95 points.
They were followed in the poll by Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology (two, first-place votes, 91 points), Anderson University and Hanover College (one, first-place vote). Franklin College, Earlham College, Manchester University, Defiance College, the Mount, and Bluffton University round out the poll.
The following Mount players were selected as "Players to Watch" for the 2013 season:
Christopher Earls Sophomore Forward Cincinnati, OH/Colerain
Bryson Lewis Senior Midfielder Blanchester, OH/Blanchester
Jake Nelson Senior Defender Batavia, OH/Batavia
Matt Funk Sophomore Defender Cincinnati, OH/Oak Hills
