Anderson High School senior Ben Correll to play golf in the fall for the Mount

The College of Mount St. Joseph officially announces that Anderson High School senior Ben Correll will attend the College in the fall and play golf for the Lions.

Correll played in the number one position for his high school team, and averaged 36 strokes over nine holes and 74 strokes over 18 holes of play. He currrently has a scoring average of 71 for 18 holes, and recorded his second hole-in-one last July. Correll attended FCA Indiana Junior Golf
Camp in 2013, was a Team Captain for his high school squad last season, and was Second Team All-Conference. He made it to the District Tournament last season, and was the lowest scoring individual to qualify for the State Tournament, where he played fourth as an individual helping his team to a 21st place finish. The team MVP, was als an Honorable Mention All-City honoree.

Correll, a two-handicap player, was a First Team All-Conference player in2201, 011 and 2012, a 2012 Team Captain, and made the District Tournament each of those years. He also was named Team MVP each of those seasons, a two-time Applebees Athlete of the Week, and in 2012 was an Honorable Mention All-City honoree and conference Golfer of the Year. He had a 38 scoring average in 2012. During 2011 competition ast Weatherwax and Sharon Woods Golf Courses, Correll turned in top 15 finishes. 

Ben, who played high school golf for Head Coach David Lunn, is the son of Jeanean and Frank Correll. He is planning on majoring in Business Administration at the Mount.
