Men's golf finishes eighth at Illinois Wesleyan Invitational

The College of Mount St. Joseph golf team sent part of the squad to a tournament at Illinois Wesleyan for a two-day event. The tournament was held at Prestwick Country Club in Normal, IL. The Lions finished eighth of 21 teams at the event. The medalist for the event was Tony Albano of host Illinois Wesleyan, who finished at even par.

The Lions were led by Eric Hensler (Fairfield, OH/Fairfield) on the par 72 course. Hensler finished in a tie for eleventh place, shooting 3-over both days for a total of 150. Finishing close behind was Stephen Beamer (Cincinnati, OH/Madiera) who finished 13-over par in a tied for 34th place. Phillip Gilmore (Wilmington, OH/Wilmington) and Matt Stiens (Cincinnati, OH/La Salle) finished at 14 and 15-over, respectively.

The Lions will come back together for the Defiance College Invitational next weekend.
