Mount men's golf team records fourth place standing at the Nye Intercollegiate Invitational

The College of Mount St. Joseph men's golf team shot a second round 314 - the second best team score of the day in round two - and finished fourth at this past weekend's Nye Intercollegiate Invitational hosted by the College of Wooster. The Lions, who shot 327-314--641, finished behind Wittenberg Unviersity (609), the University of Mount Union (630), and the College of Wooster (640). There were 16 schools that were competed.

Tyler Overberg (West Chester, OH/Lakota East) led the Mount individually, finishing in a tie for fourth place with a 78-77--155. Stephen Beamer (Cincinnati, OH/Madeira) also turned in a top-10 finish, placing in a ninth place tie with five other golfers, turning in a score of 82-76--158. Conor McGarry (Lexington, KY/Lexington Catholic) tied for 17th with a 84-76--160. Seven Mount golfers competed in the two-day invitational. There were 90 golfers in all.

The Mount returns to action on April 27-28, when they host the first two rounds of the HCAC Tournament at Aston Oaks Golf Club in North Bend, OH. Tee times are 8:30 a.m. each day.
